On Sunday, March 20th, the first day of the Iranian new calendar year, family members of political prisoners and uprising martyrs rallied outside Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison in commemoration of their loved ones. This was despite a heavy presence of regime intelligence and security forces. A number of activists protesting the continued detention of Mohammad Ali Taheri were also present at this rally.
Intelligence agents were seen attacking the peaceful gatherers, viciously punching and kicking many. Mothers and other family members of political prisoners and uprising martyrs ended their gathering at 11 am local time.
