Iran once again stressed on its all-out support for the bloodthirsty dictator of Syria.
In an interview with state-run TV, Deputy Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian discussed the recent change in opinion among senior Russian officials about their support for Assad.
“We have always clearly reminded Russian officials in our political negotiations that public opinion in the Middle East does not have good feelings about you and some believe that Russia abandons its allies in the last minute. However, as far as we as the Islamic republic are concerned, we pursue our own strategy with power regarding Syria,” he said.
“Bashar Assad is the President of Syria and he is approved, and it is under this framework that even if other parties abandon their allies, the Islamic republic has proven in the events of the past three decades that it has always remained alongside its allies even in the hardest of times,” Abdollahian added.
