Iran: Bassij base disarmed by protestors

Monday, 29 June 2009 – A base in Tehran used by the paramilitary Bassij Force and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to suppress recent nationwide uprisings, was attacked on Monday, June 22, by Iranian youth.
In the attack, protestors managed to disarm the forces, which have been involved in killing and arresting people and protestors in recent days.
The attack became a subject of bickering between the Bassij and IRGC, each of whom blamed the other for its occurrence.
