Special anti-riot units stationed outside the Bafaq metal stone mine fearing protests and a strike staged by 5,000 mine workers. These forces had raided the area in an attempt to arrest 16 of these protesting workers. Anti-riot forces had arrested two protesting workers on Tuesday.
The striking mine workers were in rallies for the past three months, protesting the
transfer of this mine to the regime’s plundering groups under the pretext of privatization.
