At 1600 hours, Tehran time today, Thursday, January 7, 2016 dozens of protesters who have been robbed of their money to the sham mega-construction project called ’Padideh Shandiz’ gathered in Mashhad’s major intersection “Bargh Sq. to protest the plundering scheme by government backed agencies.
The clerical regime had already dispatched dozens of suppressive forces to streets and major intersections to prevent these demonstration from taking shape. Eyewitness reports says that you could see police and anti-riot guards at almost every bus station, every intersection and all around the major road and streets in the third largest city in Iran. These suppressive forces were arresting anybody or any group that were suspicious of wanting to join the demonstration. The government had brought dozens of vans and minibuses to carry the apprehended individuals to jail.
But despite all these suppressive and provocative measures, groups of victims of Shandiz sham project were able to converge at ’Bargh’ Sq. demanding their plundered money.
The protesters said these suppressive security forces must stop mobs from attacking embassies rather than preventing peaceful demonstrators who are demanding their rights.
