An 86-year old prisoner by the name of Hassan Taffah, suffering from blood cancer, was transferred to a hospital on September 19 in Tehran due to severe fatigue and poor health conditions.
This political prisoner was sent off for medical leave in March and was forced back in to Rajaie Shahr Prison of Karaj (west of Tehran) due to the fact that the judge supervising over cases of political and security prisoners refused to extend his leave.
Taffah has been condemned to life in prison on the charge of “measures against national security”. This 86-year old prisoner can barely walk and yet the Iranian regime’s so-called judiciary is refusing to release him.
