Iran: 8 protest rallies, strikes staged in 7 cities


Monday witnessed 8 different protest rallies and strikes staged by workers, employees, nurses and storeowners in the seven different cities of Ilam, Bushehr, Chalus, Sanandaj, Kermanshah and Hersin.


 


 


Ilam – Group of municipality contract workers hold rally protesting not receiving their wages and overtime work pay in October-November. This rally was held outside the District 2 municipality office.


 


 


Bushehr – Sadra Company workers continue strike
After the workers went to the governorate office and received no answers to their demands they made arrangements to hold protest rallies again on Tuesday and close down the company gates.


 


Chalus – 2nd day of storeowners’ strike
Owners of numerous stores, restaurants and others that are targeted by the Iranian regime’s huge taxes have been on hunger strike for two days now.
The storeowners are saying these measures are illogical and all government officials are fully aware of the catastrophic economic conditions.


 


Kermanshah – workers stage protest rally demanding their paychecks which they have not received for two months.


 


 


Sanandaj – nurses rally again and protest paycheck problems and the fact that 6 months of overdue pay was not given to the workers.


Sanandaj – a group of firefighters protested their low wages and not having insurance from March to this day. This rally was held outside the Firefighters Organization in Sanandaj on Taleghani Avenue.


 


Aslawia – 700 workers of Phase 23-24-25 gas projects continue strike


 


“All workers are still in the dormitory and refusing to show up at the workplace,” one worker said. “We will continue our strike in order to receive our minimum wages and exit the current situation.”


 


 


Hersin – Group of contract employees in Registration Bureau hold rally


 


A group of contract employees at the Registration Bureau in the town of Hersin held a rally protesting not receiving their wages and overtime work for the past three months.
