Iran: 78 people hospitalized after sand storms in Sistan-Baloochestan blanketed the city

Iran – On Sunday April 1, 2018 – Extremely high levels of dust and sand blanketed the province of Sistan-Baloochestan in south eastern Iran, resulting in hospitalization of 78 persons. “36 persons, out of the 78 who had come for help to the hospital were hospitalized,” said Hamid Reza Bozi, the head of public relations at the Zabol University of Medical Sciences.
He was also quoted by the official Mehr news agency as saying: “Unfortunately, due to the dryness of the Hamoon lagoon, and due to heavy dust and sand storms, many people seek help from medical clinics and hospitals mainly for respiratory and eye problems.”
