The state-run IRNA news agency shed light on segregation against women in Iran regarding their participation in the country’s economy. This state-run news agency wrote the rate of men taking part in the economy last year was 67.5% while women were only rated at 12%. Furthermore, the rate of unemployment in this same reviewed period was 19.7% for women, meaning more than twice than that of men, being 8.8%. (State-run IRNA news agency – July 25, 2015)
