Eighty Sunni political prisoners in Gohardasht Prison of Karaj, west of Tehran, surpassed their 2nd day on hunger strike on Wednesday, June 18th, protesting the death sentences of 4 Sunni Kurd political prisoners detained in Ghezel Hesar Prison in this city. The hunger strikers have announced they will continue their strike until the death sentences of the abovementioned four are revoked. Furthermore, the four death row Sunni Kurd political prisoners by the names of Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Molaei, Jamshid and Jahangir Dehghani are ong  their 6th day on hunger strike on Thursday.
The families of these 4 Sunni political prisoners also surpassed their 5th day of sit-ins outside Ghezel Hesar Prison. Khodabakhshi, deputy warden of this facility, has told them their loved ones have been transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in order to be executed.
In other news, political prisoner Shahrokh Zamani – currently held in Gohardasht Prison of Karaj – issued a statement calling on international human rights organizations to take action to save the lives of the four Sunni Kurd political prisoners.
