Political prisoner Hossein Javani, a supporter of the PMOI, surpassed his 11th day of hunger strike on Thursday. He is currently detained in Bandar Abbas Prison in southern Iran.
He is on hunger strike protesting his transfer from ward 1 to ward in this prison.
Most of the prisoners in this ward are drug addicts and prisoners with criminal records. This political prisoner was arrested back in the 1980s due to his support for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.
His foot is now infected due to the severe lashes he has received under torture. Political prisoner Hassan Javani was arrested on 16 December 2012 on charges of supporting the PMOI and Ministry of Intelligence interrogators finally had him sentenced to ten years in jail. The regime’s henchmen have exiled this political prisoner from ward 350 of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison to Bandar Abbas Prison in the south.
