100 female prisoners in Urumia prison, northern Iran are on the death row, according to recent report. There are total of 300 female prisoners in the women’s ward in Urumia which 100 of them are condemned to death.
This prison houses 4095 prisoners all together which includes 720 in just two wards, all condemned to death by hanging. There are 80 prisoners  in Ward 12 known as the Political Prisoners Ward, 25 of them are prisoners of conscious and political prisoners. There are also 700 juveniles in the juvenile section of the prison.
Urumia Prison located in the northwestern of the country is the third largest prison in the country.
