Inquiry Suggests More Control over Iranian Borders to Secure Iraq

The VOA News Sep. 7 — Retired Marine Gen. James Jones called Iran and Syria sources of arms and anti-U.S. operatives which destabilize Iraq.
An independent committee headed by Gen. Jones in an inquiry to be presented to the Houses reported: in order to stop arms smuggling from Iran to the extremist militias in Iraq five radars were placed for surveillance at Iran-Iraq border crossing points but for unknown reasons they are out of work. Presently the Army is evaluating more sophisticated equipment for inspecting inside containers coming from Iran to Iraq.
The Gen. Jones said better secure border makes it harder for Iranian regime’s penetration.
