An Iranian regime economist revealed inflation has risen to 45% under Rouhani’s policies
“The (Rouhani) government has to this day done nothing to control inflation… (while) one of Rouhani’s main slogans was to improve the country’s economic status, control inflation and improve the people’s welfare,” said former market competition council chief Jamshid Pazhvian.
“During the past few years we have always been faced with inflation over 20%. Amongst all this there was a sanctions shock that hit the country and prices skyrocketed. This trend has continued and finally inflation has reached 45%,” he added.
“The government… is only seeking to resolve the sanctions issue. In fact, the talks have overshadowed all economic policies and or action by the government,” this regime economist said with his remarks posted in the state-run Tabnak website on March 19th.
