Guards at Qezel-Hesar prison in Karaj on Monday December 16th transferred six political prisoners who were on their 42nd day of hunger strike to solitary to put more pressures on them. These 6 Kurdish prisoners have been on hunger strike since November 4th in protest to the unjust death sentences. They also protested their illegal transfer of political prisoners to the criminal ward.
Ahmad Mohammadi, who is a Sunni prisoner, has been under brutal physical and psychological tortures.
According to prisoners who have served time in these solitary confinements, these cells lack the minimum facilities and are medieval cells. They are so tiny that a prisoner is unable to stretch and lie down for rest. The guards would pour cold water on them, on the floor and over the walls to force the prisoner to give in.
