Acting as the guardian or protector of Bashar Assad, in a desperate attempt Khamenei called on Assad opponents to lay down their arms and enter talks with the government.
“If Syrian opponents lay down their arms, they will be able to ask the government to listen to the opponents and allow them to voice their positions,” Khamenei said.
“If the opponents of any country are armed from the outside, it is natural for the ruling government to take action against them,” Khamenei added in an attempt to justify Assad’s bombings and other vicious measures.
