IAEA chief discusses explosive fuses research in Iran

Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in his trip to Tehran on Sunday met with Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, foreign minister Javad Zarif and nuclear organization chief Ali Akbar Salehi. At a press conference Salehi said Amano discussed the issue of explosive fuses in depth with Iranian officials.
Amano also issued a statement saying this matter was discussed in these meetings. Currently, the IAEA will reevaluate all issues related to the past, including explosive fuses, he added.
Reuters on Amano’s trip to Tehran reported International Institute of Strategic Studies said the chance of success in the negotiations for a long-term agreement between the P5+1 and Iran has decreased… unless Iran responds to IAEA concerns… Iran in the month of May presented intelligence to the IAEA on the reasons of the explosive fuses. These fuses can be used in nuclear explosions but Iran says they have civil purposes, Reuters added.
