Human rights conditions not improved under Rouhani: Le Monde

Le Monde published a piece on Friday, March 4th, saying 10 months after Rouhani came to power the number of executions in Iran have risen. The official report of executions in Iran last year was 369, while according to Amnesty International hundreds of unannounced executions have been reported by other sources.
In Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province 16 Baluchi prisoners were executed in one month alone, leaving the region’s residents in shock.
These executions took place only one day after 14 Iranian soldiers were murdered by an armed Sunni group and the execution of the inmates was in fact in retaliation of the Sunni group’s attack, Le Monde added.
With seven years passing a young Iranian woman continues to await execution after her ruling was confirmed by the mullahs’ supreme court. She may be executed any moment now.
