The mullahs’ former envoy in Lebanon expressed deep concerns over the definite downfall of the Syrian dictatorship, saying the gap between the Syrian people and Assad is so wide that it is now too late for reforms to be made.
Khabar Online, affiliated to the Iranian regime’s Majlis (parliament) speaker Ali Larijani, published an interview with Mohammad Ali Sobhani, the mullahs’ former envoy in Lebanon.
“The Syrian government is a single-party government in which during the past 48 years only the Baath Party has been in power,” Sobhani said admitting to the Syrian government’s vicious crackdown on the people of this country. “To make things worst, only one family has ruled in Syria for the past 42 years, adding to the crackdown along these years. There is no free press or free political party in Syria.”
