
Iran: Tighter sanctions, more escape routes
While the European Union adopted tighter sanctions on Monday to prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weaponry, the opposition movement People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran reveals the increasing complicated methods of Iran’s apparatus for bypassing sanctions, reported Le Soir daily in Belgium.
A cloak institution has been especially established under the name of “Oil Retirement Financing Account”. Its only objective is to allow Revolutionary Guards Brigadier General Ahmad Dastjerdi to legally carry out financial transactions in the international market. Truly, Dastjerdi has no relations with oil matters, and less than that, with retirement issues. For years he was the head of Iran’s Aerospace Industries Organization, having a role in completing missile and nuclear warheads industries. To bypass sanctions, Austria is a key country.
