In a harsh factional infighting between Khamenei and Rafsanjani and in reaction to Khamenei’s harsh attack on the former president, Rafsanjani lashed out at the regime’s leader Khamenei once again, telling him not to cling on power.
Rafsanjani’s website wrote on Sunday, July 12th:
Hashemi Rafsanjani in a meeting with a group of students and members of student organizations criticized those who think power will extend the span of governments.
“This is the public opinion that is the main titleholder of all governments in all societies, and the opinion and votes of the youth are the main aspects of this public opinion,” Rafsanjani said.
“In such conditions one cannot prevent people’s thoughts because people in all locations are always using the most simple communications devices such as mobile phones to remain up to date about the latest developments and events across the globe around them,” he said in an obvious response to the remarks made by Khamenei the day before amongst the regime’s university officials.
