INTV, 3 Oct 2013 – On Wednesday morning, the families of detained inmates in Kermanshah’s Diesel Abad Prison in their visits noticed the broken heads and faces of a number of prisoners who had been attacked by the prison guards. The family members strongly protested this measure and expressed their anger against this vicious behavior towards the inmates by prison authorities.
Fearing the increasing anger and protests leading to a riot in the prison, the prison authorities suspended all visits and forced the family members out of the visiting hall.
It is worth noting that a number of regime elements intended to attack various ordinary inmates in Ward 5 of Diesel Abad Prison. However, the inmates resisted their attack and actually fought back, turning the entire ward into mayhem. In these clashes many windows of Ward 5 were broken and a vast amount of damage was inflicted to the prison’s doors and windows. Finally, fearing the entire situation would turn into a huge riot, the prison guards began attacking a group of inmates and transferred them to Ward 9 which is used to punish the prisoners.
