On 10 August 2015 a woman was hanged in Gohardasht Prison in the city of Karaj. Her name was Fatima Hadadi, 39, and she had a daughter. She had spent 8 years behind bars. In the afternoon of 9 August and under the pretext of going to the clinic, she was transferred out of room 6 of the Gharchak Prison in the city of Varamin and sent to Gohardasht Prison. Other reports show that another female prisoner by the name of Akram Mahdavi is on the verge of execution.
