Egyptian website: Rajavi: We want the world to abandon supporting the dictatorial regime in Iran

NCRI, 22 July 2010 – Egypt’s Alfajr website published a report about the large gathering of Iranians in June on Sunday, saying, “Maryam Rajavi rejects slavery under religion and what she described as turbaned fascism. She says, ‘we do not want stoning, executions and limb amputations.”

Maryam Rajavi stood in front of the pictures of martyrs. She was clearly moved. The President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran said about the martyrs: These undying martyrs have become part of an everlasting light.
Strong and charismatic, Rajavi addressed more than 100,000 Iranian exiles in Europe. She is a role model for Muslim women today, leading a movement comprised of both women and men.
When you stand face-to-face with her, you are inspired by the power of a commanding thought. She is astute enough to know who she is talking to, where they work at, and what their positions are. Her smile never brushes off her face.

Even though she wears a scarf herself, she reject compulsory veiling and obligatory religion.
Maryam Rajavi views Camp Ashraf, Iraq, as the symbol of the struggle for freedom in Iran. She says it is the best option for obtaining democracy. The Iranian regime sees Ashraf as a thorn on its side where the seeds of the next revolution are being planted.
Rajavi insists that her movement does not want the help of a foreign military to interfere in Iran for people’s freedom. “We want the world to abandon supporting this dictatorial regime. This is a regime that has set up gallows in public places as a way to confront the Iranian people’s demands for freedom of expression.”
She also said, “We will never forget what happened on July 28 and 29, 2009 in Ashraf. They attacked defenseless people in Ashraf with bullets.”
She says she wants to keep the memory of the movement’s martyrs alive; martyrs like Hanif, Siavash, Mehrdad, Alireza, Asqar, Amir, Fardin, Shaaban, Mohammad-Reza, and Hossein. “Yes, this is the price for brining change to Iran,” she says.
