Senior Egyptian religious figure Dr. Yousef Qarzawi condemned Iran’s support for the Syrian dictator.
“Assad’s government uses heavy weaponry to massacre the Syrian people. If not through bombings, he uses Shabiha forces to murder the Syrian people in their own homes,” Qarzawi said in an interview with al-Jazeera TV.
“The Free Syrian Army is prepared for war. However, it doesn’t have the weapons Assad’s forces do,” he added.
“Russia supports the Assad regime. Iran continuously provides support to the Assad regime. Iran considers its own survival in the survival Syria, as if Syria is part of its existence. Iran supports the Syrian regime by providing weapons, men and money through Hezbollah and its other affiliates in Iraq,” Sheikh Qarzawi stressed.
“Iran is placing all its efforts to support the Assad regime,” he concluded.
