
Following Arab protests against Iran’s meddling in Bahrain, Egyptian President Abdulfattah al-Sisi in a telephone conversation with King Hamd bin Issa of Bahrain condemned any meddling in this country’s internal affairs.
The Egyptian President emphasized on his country standing alongside and fully supporting Bahrain in the fight against terrorism.
“The security of Persian Gulf countries, including that of Bahrain, is a red line for and an inseparable part of Egypt’s national security,” he said.
Al-Sisi met with senior Saudi officials and emphasized on his country’s bilateral relations with Riyadh.
In the meantime Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir in a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shokri emphasized and expressed hope on establishing a joint Arab military force. This force will be formed soon as agreed to in the Arab leaders’ conference, he added.
