Iranian regime officials announced once again continuing the war in Syrian has strategic importance for them and is necessary for their survival, Orient TV reported.
“The war currently ongoing in Syria is in definition a war between Iran and the US,” said Mohammad Iskandari, head of the Revolutionary Guards in the city of Malayer in Iran. “Currently there are 42 battalions and 138 companies and other combat units of the Iranian regime fighting in the front lines of Syria to help Assad,” this IRGC commander said.
It is crystal clear for everyone that Assad is continuing its crimes in Syria supported by Iran, the IRGC and various other militant groups linked to this regime. It is also clear for the Syrian forces that the management of the Syrian war is on the shoulders of the IRGC command that is planning the entire campaign, and Syrian forces are receiving orders from this command.
This has also been clearly expressed time and again by senior Iranian regime officials during the past few days that Assad’s downfall has what consequences for the Iranian regime, and this regime is willing to provide any and all support to keep Assad in power.
“The war in Syria for us is similar to war with the US,” the IRGC commander in Malayer said very clearly.
 

Mercenaries dispatched to Syria are recruited from all Iranian provinces and the Iranian regime provides financial and arms support through government organs.
During the past few days regarding there have been various credible reports citing Afghan government officials saying Iran is recruiting poor Afghans for the war in Syria. By paying a monthly salary of $500 and permitting them residency in Iran the regime provides training and briefing and then sends them off to battlefronts in Syria to support the Assad regime. These forces are first placed at the disposal of IRGC or Syria Hezbollah elements.
