Al Tagheer TV cited informed sources saying Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have started establishing the Iraqi IRGC. These sources added an IRGC senior by the name of ‘Masjedi’ has been appointed to form such a force after his meeting with Iraqi national security advisor Faleh al-Fayaz in mid-April. In this bilateral meeting the issue of the Iraqi army’s inability to take over Fallujah was discussed, which needs an official militant force that can enter guerrilla warfare.
Masjedi has suggested Asaeb al-Haq units be appointed to form civil defense forces and officially be considered as an urgent and popular force to protect Iraq and to be used in wars and even in unannounced wars.
Al Tagheer added this subject has been raised by the IRGC commander in Iran’s Ghazvin Province.
