Corps of Terrorism

During the past week, when US administration’s decision to blacklist the Islamic Revolution Guards Corp was raised, US authorities and Media have addressed some aspects of RGC ’s action in the mullahs’ rule. Some described the IRGC as the “state terrorism system” that the mullahs use “to pursue their terrorist goals from Afghanistan to Iraq , and from Lebanon to Palestine, Bosnia , Africa and America”; its [IRGC] financial empire extents from oil fields to honey bees farming”, and can be called “the Revolution’s commercial firm”, that “has confiscated huge pieces of property in well to do parts of north Tehran from its original owners”, “has dozens of auto-parts manufacturing firms”, and when it marches past, what one can not see is the huge amounts of money in the Guards’ pockets”. The media in the U.S. have quoted officials as saying, “If such designation actually goes into effect, it would be for the first time that a branch of a sovereign government had been listed. Ahmadinejad was promoted in the IRGC’s ranks, and was brought into power by it’s veterans.
That was the tip of the iceberg of the truths that were hidden about the IRGC’ nature and actions. The unconscious world of appeasement has not opened its eyes on the real crimes committed by the IRGC against the Iranian people. From the peaceful uprising of the people claiming freedom in Tehran in 1981 – when Khomeini gave the IRGC the permission to open fire on the defenseless people via State radio – to Iranian people’s later uprisings turned into bloodshed in Arak, Shiraz, Boukan, Mashad, the 1999 uprising, and people’s oppressed uprisings during the last years, each time the IRGC, as the Supreme Leader’s main guardian, has committed the most cruel killings, and imposed an atmosphere of terror to the Iranian society.
Therefore, in answer to the rest of the appeasers who are reticent about the designation of the mullahs’ forces of terrorism as a terrorist group, one must remind the dangerous results of ignoring the crimes committed by the most active sponsor of terrorism, and, in defense of the Iranian people’s right to resistance and liberty, and the peace in the region and in the world, one must stress one more time the insightful statements of the opposition’s leader 6 years ago:
“The anti-terrorism policy must extend to the world’s hub of exportation of terrorism and fundamentalism; otherwise it would be useless and ineffective. We have always repeated that appeasing a religious and terrorist dictatorship that poses a serious threat to the region’s peace and stability will encourage the exportation of terrorism and fundamentalism by this regime; as the terrorist designation of the PMOI brazens the regime in oppressing, exporting terrorism, and using weapons of mass destruction.” (Massoud Rajavi – 2001)
