Clerical regime’s contradictory statements on EP delegation trip

The clerical regime publishes contradicting news about the trip of a European parliamentary delegation to Iran. First, the Iranian officials claimed the delegation is coming and then the next day the cancellation of the trip is declared.
On October 26th, Kazem Jalali, speaker of Security Commission in regime’s Majlis (parliament) announced a European parliamentary delegation will visit Iran during the next ten days. He declared the purpose of this trip as “opposition groups including Mojahedin have supplied misinformation against the Islamic Republic in order to awaken a negative wave in Europe.”
A day after Kazem Jalali’s statement, on October 27th the European Parliament delegation announced that the Iranian authorities have refused to issue entrance visas for the delegation. Hence, the trip was cancelled for the third time.
Iranian authorities did not declare the reason for the cancellation of this trip, but some analysts say it is due to the fact that the regime cannot respond to the international community on issues such as human rights, thus these trips will back-fire.
The Finnish head of the European Parliament delegation had previously announced that this visit will mainly focus on human rights issues.
