Casualties of Japan earthquake lower than crashes in Iran

According to a report from the state-run MEHR News Agency, Tehran’s Deputy Officialfor Transportation and Traffic said: “According to statistics, the number of casualties of the earthquake in Japan is lower than the number of the total car accident casualties in Iran. The number of injured in this natural disaster are many times lower than our annual injuries. The entire world gave attention to the people who suffered casualties in Japan and entered the issue with all in their power. Do the dead individuals resulting from car accidents in our country not deserve such attention? Who will guarantee that we will not be one of the hundreds of thousands that are injured in car accidents? The Bam (northeastern Iran) and Japan earthquake deeply affected our society and everyone endeavored to reduce their disastrous aftermaths and return the people to their lives. The dilemma of traffic needs the same attention.”
