The Canadian representative at the UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva said the Iranian people continue to lack the most basic freedoms and promises given to them have not been fulfilled, making them disappointed and disenchanted.
Political prisoner are beaten and executions are being used increasingly, the envoy continued, adding Canada is extremely upset about organized human rights violations in Iran and the regime must be held accountable for gross human rights violations.
