
The bodies of seven coal mine workers in Tabas, northeastern Iran, were brought out of from 500 meters underneath the Earth surface.
This coal mine is located south of Tabas and eight of the 40 active workers were inside the mine at the time of the explosion. A former mine worker at this site said it was only the people who rushed to the scene to help the minors after the explosion, pulling them out of the rubble.
He said the reason of the explosion was non-standard conditions at the mine and the lack of minimum safety procedures and equipment.
