Bahrain Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in his speech in New York at the United Nations General Assembly strongly condemned the positions taken by Iran, especially Hassan Rouhani’s speech at the UN General Assembly on the incident in Mecca.
“Iran is continuing its meddling in Bahrain affairs. This meddling is through the use of fundamental groups, providing asylum to those fleeing justice, establishing bases to train terrorist groups, smuggling weapons and explosives, and attacking citizens and security forces,” he said.
Bahrain and other Arab states have called on Iran to stop its interference in their affairs, the Bahrain top diplomat emphasized. However, Iran is neglecting their demands and therefore Bahrain is forced to recall its ambassador from Iran and designate Iran’s charge d’affaires as an unwanted individual, he explained.
