
Iran, August 11, 2016 — Associated Press cited Iran’s official news agency as reporting that a policeman died and two of his colleagues were wounded when an attacker on a motorcycle threw an explosive device at their car.
IRNA reported on Thursday that the attack happened earlier this week, on Tuesday night, in the country’s Kurdish region, in the predominantly Kurdish town of Marivan near the border with Iraq.
Sporadic clashes happen between Iranian regime forces and Kurdish activists after regime tries to suppress Kurdish rebels.
Last week, Iranian regime executed more than 20 Kurdish prisoners in Karaj Gohardasht Prison. The mass executions prompted a tense atmosphere in Kurdish region and international condemnation and outcry.
