Abdol-Halim Khadam, former Syrian Vice President during Hafez Assad’s rule said Bashar Assad will have the same faith as Gadhafi, CNN reported.
Assad is relying heavily on the Iranian regime and believes the mullahs can protect and save his rule, Khadam added.
It is worth noting that recent reports have shown the mullahs’ regime has through Iraq been providing fuel for Assad’s tanks in their crackdown on Syrian civilians. Assad’s regime is currently facing serious economic sanctions, resulting in shortages of fuel.
