Despite immense advertisement by Rouhani’s government to advance the scheme of calling on Iranians to sign-off from receiving subsidies, this plan has faced an utter defeat, and now the regime’ state-run media is publishing bogus numbers in this regard to cover up the mess.
Keihad daily (Khamenei mouthpiece, Wednesday, 16 April): “While the Fars news agency said around 10 to 15% of the population have decided to not receive subsidies, the Mehr news agency however reports these numbers at less than 10%. According to these figures, 40 million people across the country are actually demanding subsidies.”
Keihan goes on to say statistics show in the last round 77,520,000 Iranians received subsidies. As it is clear now, Rouhani has failed miserably in this scheme, and this also shows how much the Iranian people despise the mullahs’ regime.
