INTV, 14 Oct 2013 – According to reports published inside Iran during Rouhani’s visit to Tehran University, at least two protesting students were arrested and there is still no news of their whereabouts. These reports also indicate that the protesting students all sang a specific national song to show their protest.
Simultaneously, the state-run Mehr news agency reported serious security measures in Tehran University during Rouhani’s visit.
“During Rouhani’s presence in Tehran University, students had no commuting from the tech school to the college mosque and security personnel were added to the scenes by the minute. Gatherings of two or more students were not allowed. While Iranian students faced severe restrictions, non-Iranian students had special invitation cards and were able to enter the event, raising the protest of other students,” the report said.
