A member of Iran’s Dervish Gonabadi community by the name of Farzad Dervish was arrested on Saturday by agents of the repressive State Security Force in a town near the major city of Shiraz, south-central Iran. He was later transferred to Shiraz’s Adel Abad Prison.
Based on reports from Shiraz, on July 12th Farzad Dervish was sentenced to 6 months in jail and 40 lashes along with 3 other Dervish Gonabadi community members by the names of Mohammad Ali Sa’di, Mohammad Jalal Nikbakht and Hojattollah Saeedi.
Farzad was once again arrested on Saturday, October 8th and transferred to Shiraz’s Adel Abad Prison. It is worth noting that the three other Dervish Gonabadi community members were also arrested by SSF units last week and transferred to this same prison
