Angry southern Iran residents attack police station + other protests

Bandar Abbas
In Iran protest reports, at 3 pm in the afternoon on Thursday, August 7th, a large crowd of people in the town of Gachin near Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, attacked a police station and clashed with the police. The residents of two villages protested continuous extortion by the police and their stealing of their boats. A number of police agents were injured and at least 6 of them were sent to a Bandar Abbas hospital.


Shahr-e Kord
Families of Shahr-e Kord prisoners staged a rally on the path of Rouhani’s convoy during his visit to this city, chanting against the crimes committed by state authorities against in Shahr-e Kord Prison. They also demanded the release of other inmates.


Tehran
On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 6th, two young girls clashed with ‘Guidance’ police patrol units. The agents were harassing the girls under the bogus pretext of improper hijab and intended to arrest them. However, the young girls resisted and screamed, calling on people to help them. Fearing the security being disrupted in the area and people gathering, the agents were forced to release the girls and flee the area.
 
Isfahan
A group of workers in the Saya, Ghatran and Nasuz of the Isfahan steel mill rallied on Wednesday, August 6th. They chanted demanding their paychecks at the beginning of the month and protesting their wages being lowered.


Tehran
Tehran municipality workers went on strike on Monday, August 4th, protesting for higher wages and also their overtime wages being accounted in their paychecks.


Isfahan
A group of contract workers of the Isfahan Sepahan Cement Factory rallied outside the regime’s Ministry of Labor on Wednesday, August 6th, for the second day in a row protesting being expelled from work. Workers had gathered on Tuesday, August 5th, in this location, too. These workers have been unemployed for the past 3 months and have gone to Tehran protesting this matter.


Shiraz
Three young Baluchi workers building a small overhead bridge in Shiraz protested on Wednesday, August 6th, demanding their wages, and clashing with the regime’s municipality officials. The state police arrested the workers and transferred to an unknown location. Other workers seeing this scene stopped working and threatened if the three workers are not returned, all of them will stage protest measures in Shiraz.


Tehran
Contract workers of Tehran Farman Company metro workers continued their strike for the second day on Thursday, August 7th. The workers of this company gathered on Wednesday, August 6th, protesting not receiving their paychecks. The striking workers said they will continue their strike until their demands are met.
