Iran is continuing its crackdown and arresting ethnic Azeris for the third consecutive day, Al Arabiya TV reported on Friday, November 13th. These arrests are in response to widespread protests staged by Azeris against an insulting program aired by the regime’s state-run channel 2 against Azeri Turks.
These protests were staged in Tabriz, Urumieh, Meshkin Shahr, Zanjan, Ardebil and Jalfa, Oyan News website reported. The latest of such arrests were carried out in the city of Ahar in East Azerbaijan Province.
The relatives of those arrested said the regime’s security forces physically attacked their loved ones during their apprehension.
