Palestinian sources revealed the ‘Islamic Jihad’ group, directly supported and directed by Iran, is attempting to remain influential in Palestine despite relations decreasing with Hamas, Kuwait’s al-Seyassah daily reported. Therefore, a few months ago it attempted to strengthen its influence in Gaza on a widespread scale.
These sources say ‘Islamic Jihad’ is forming of a propaganda group and the Iranian regime is putting its weight behind it in order to maintain its influence in Palestine. Iran might actually try to eliminate Hamas from the scene and take complete control over Gaza, as it did with Fatah and other Palestinian groups through Hamas many years ago.
Hamas is currently seeing itself facing a danger threatening its very existence and therefore it has placed all its previous conditions aside and signed an accord with Fatah, agreeing to let go of the rule over Gaza.
