A mother’s last memoir before the young daughter is executed: ’I kissed her so many times, but my thirst for her love has not quelled yet’

Mrs. Sho’leh Pakrawan, Reyhaneh’s mother writes in her memoir of her last encounter with her beloved daughter hours before she was hanged by the bloody hands of the mullahs “I just got back from my last visit with her before she is taken for execution, tired and heart broken, myself, her father, her two siblings, grand pa and grand ma. Our last encounter was in the office of the warden. A number of regime’s officials were also present. Reyhaneh was feverish, but quite. We all kept controls of our emotions until halfway toward the meeting, but couldn’t hold on any longer. We all broke in tears. We kept on insisting and asking where would they take her to carry out the execution, but they didn’t answer, it was supposed to be secret.
Her journey took 7.5 years to end here up on the gallows. When my beautiful daughter left to meet her destiny, I prayed and prayed and sprayed water behind her steps as a sign of return, but I knew there wouldn’t be any return.
I kissed her over and over, but my thirst for her love is still burning inside me. I miss her a lot, even though I saw her few hours ago. My heart is cold but is crying for Reyhaneh.”
Mrs. Pakrawan then says that she would continue searching to find out where she would be taken for execution, but if she fails to find out, she would choose one prison and stand outside that prison until morning and would talk to her daughter.
She concludes: “where ever in this world, I feel and smell her fragrance, it will remain in my heart and soul. Her heart beats with mine, my tears are the flowers of her path and my love will always be with her.”
