Kerman’s Public and ‘Revolution’ Prosecutor announced the arrest of a number of those participating in the February 14th gathering in this city. “17 people were arrested in this gathering, 8 of them to be detained provisionally and the others are scheduled to be released,” Kerman Public Prosecutor Yadollah Movahed said mentioning the Feb. 14 gathering in one of Kerman’s squares.
“The files of these 8 individuals accused of ‘Causing unrest in public order by causing havoc’, ‘Act against national security’, ‘Propaganda against the state’, ‘Staging illegal gatherings’ and ‘Insulting values and state officials’ are being looked into and further investigations are being carried out,” he said according to a Kerman justice office report.
This is while a high number of Iranian citizens in various cities throughout the country were arrested and transferred to prison during the Feb. 14 uprising and events afterwards.
