On December 20, 1962, American novelist and the winner of the 1962 Nobel Prize for Literature, John Steinbeck died at 62.
The theme of Steinbeck’s novels was mostly people’s life and their strife for making a living.
Steinbeck is best known for ’The Grapes of Wrath’ (1939), which summed up the bitterness of the Great Depression decade and aroused widespread sympathy for the plight of migratory farm workers. ’America and Americans’ and ’ Moon is down’ are among his other best known novels.
