Dr. Hossein Fatemi, hero of the Iranian National Movement and Foreign Minister of Dr. Mohammad Mosaddeq, was executed by firing squad on November 10, 1954 by direct order of Shah of Iran and sacrificed his life for freedom of the Iranian people.
Before the firing squad, Dr, Fatemi told Shah’s mercenaries: ” The only holy fire that should flame inside chest of every Iranian youth is the desire to sacrifice his life for freedom of his society and nation from poverty, misery, cruelty and despotism; I have no fear of death, particularly such a proud death; I thank God that I am being martyred in the path of struggle against corruption.”
Dr. Mosaddeq said about Dr. Fatemi: “If the nationalization of oil industry serves this country greatly, we should appreciate the person who first suggested it, and that man is Dr. Fatemi.”
