Iran and its agents have gone the distance in placing all their efforts to convince the Iranian people and international community that the PMOI’s role has completely ended inside Iran. However, the passage of time has revealed the false nature of this claim and the fact that the organization remains an important element in Iran’s political equation and a nightmare for the regime.
When Iranian regime officials carried out the execution verdict of Gholamreza Khosravi, the regime’s public prosecutor attempted to justify this crime saying that Khosravi provided financial support to opposition PMOI.
However, today Khamenei talks of the PMOI’s activities and role in the international arena after emphasizing the PMOI were behind the 2009 uprising. This is strange that Khamenei and other senior regime officials continue to also claim there is no trace of the PMOI left in Iran, yet now they are expressing their fear of this organization taking the initiative and complete control over the situation inside Iran.
This speech by Khamenei once again revealed the Iranian regime’s fear of the PMOI, showing the role of this organization and its presence inside has never stopped for even a moment. The response by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, to this speech was precise and very clear, “The hatred of this bloodthirsty mullah against those who unveil its nuclear weapons projects and human rights violations in Iran, and also rise the nations of this region and the world against fundamentalism and religious fascism, is completely understandable and shows the mullahs’ have reached the end of the road.”
