In a gathering, more than 500 tribal sheikhs from 15 Iraqi provinces announced: With the formation of “Congress of Iraqi Tribal Alliance for Support of National Alternative”, they will follow up halting the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq and expulsion of the Qods Force’s elements by closing down the Iranian regime’s embassy and consulates all over Iraq. They also emphasize on the necessity of presence the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in Iraq as a strategic balance weight.

In this gathering, as the first speaker, Sheikh Mutlaq Hamada al-Jabouri, the general sheikh of al-Jabour tribe, said: Since 5 years ago, our dear homeland has suffered from hardest pressures and impasses by the Iranian regime and its agents during last 5 years… We want a national salvation government to be formed and the elections to be held under the UN supervision.

Yaaqub al-Qaissi, spokesman of the Iraqi People’s Congress, headed by Dr. Adnan Dulaimi, said: We wish that genuine national reconciliation be established in Iraq, and also despotism and suppression be eliminated. We seek the formation of a non-sectarian and strong army in Iraq and we want the militias related to Iran to be demolished.

The next speakers were Dr. Abdullah al-Jabouri, chairman of the National Front for Salvation of Diyala, Sheikh Kamil Latif Ghazi, from Wassit province, Sheikh Abdulhalim Abdulkarim from Salahuddin, Sheikh Muhammad Mahdi Khudhair from Muthanna, and several others.

At the end the final statement of the “Congress of Iraqi Tribal Alliance for Support of National Alternative” was read. The statement emphasized on the following issues:

1-Support of the national and democratic alternative including all political, nationalistic and non-sectarian currents of Iraq, and approving the initiative of Parties Coordinative Committee as a serious step toward Iraqi National Project.

2. Formation of the National Salvation Government by having this alternative as the central entity for holding comprehensive new elections under the UN supervision.

3. Halt of the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq and expulsion of Qods Force elements from Iraq by closing down the Iranian regime’s embassy and consulates all over Iraq.

4. Assumption of protection and security of Iraq’s different regions by Iraqi tribal sheikhs in each region.
