According to a report recently obtained, a woman and her husband who acted as her driver approached a day care center in Ahwaz on Saturday Oct. 25th carrying a bottle of acid threatening to splash that on the face of teachers and the kids. The assailants’ identity was recognized by the teachers and the director of the daycare center. It was immediately given to the police for investigation, but so far it has been two weeks and nothing has been done and the judicial authorities insist that they are going on vacation and holiday, so it has to wait until they come back from vacation.
The daycare center’s director told a human rights group that after the woman assailant entered the building and threatened to throw acid at teachers and children, I called the emergency. The woman followed me to the kitchen and tried to splash the acid bottle at my face, but she couldn’t open lid. We called the police, the emergency and everybody we could think of until the police arrived after 30 minutes. The assailants were gone by then. So the police started the investigating and asked people about the incident.
It is now two weeks since that attack and no one has been arrested, despite the fact that we gave them detailed information about the assailants. We don’t know why these criminals are walking freely on the streets?
