The Syrian National Council said Iraqi forces opened fire and shot live rounds on wounded Syrian refugees, preventing their entrance into Iraq, al-Sharqiya TV reported.
According to this report, the Syrian National Council statement said Iraqi officials did not permit a number of young Syrians – wounded after the aerial bombardment of the Albu-Kamal residential areas – to enter Iraq and seek medical care. The officials responded to the refugees’ requests by firing live rounds.
Al-Sharqiya TV also reported the Qaem border passage remains closed to nearly 150 Syrian families who fled the fighting inside the country.
